Les écoles Azrieli Talmud Torah | Herzliah Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and values-driven Director of Junior High School to lead our Grades 7–9 division. This role is a unique opportunity to shape a critical stage in students’ development — bridging elementary and high school — while fostering academic excellence, strong identity formation, and a vibrant student life.

The Director will provide instructional leadership, oversee student life and well-being, and cultivate a culture of respect, engagement, and growth for both students and staff.

Status: Full Time

Start Date:  July 1, 2026

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with Ministry requirements and school standards
  • Support teachers through coaching, supervision, and professional development
  • Promote innovative and engaging teaching practices tailored to early adolescents
  • Monitor student progress and support differentiated instruction and intervention.

Student Life and Well-Being

  • Lead the development of a strong, inclusive Junior High culture focused on belonging and identity
  • Oversee student discipline, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with school values
  • Implement social-emotional learning and wellness initiatives
  • Support and supervise student life programming (clubs, events, leadership opportunities)

Transition and Pathways

  • Develop and oversee transition programming from elementary to junior high and from junior high to high school
  • Collaborate closely with high school leadership to ensure continuity and readiness

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff within the Junior High division
  • Foster a collaborative, professional, and growth-oriented team culture
  • Lead regular team meetings and contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives

Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with families
  • Represent the Junior High within the broader school community

Operations and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Ministry regulations and school policies
  • Contribute to scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Support implementation of school-wide strategic priorities

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid teaching certification (Quebec or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of leadership experience 
  • Deep understanding of early adolescent development
  • Strong instructional leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and engaging school environment
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in English is an asset, to support communication with parents in our English school
