Position: Secondary School French Teacher
Reports to: Secondary School Director
Status: Permanent, Full-Time — 2026–2027 Academic Year
Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and develop teaching and learning activities aligned with the French curriculum.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, providing appropriate support to those who are experiencing challenges while also encouraging advanced students to reach their full potential.
• Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that promotes focus, mutual respect, and active participation.
• Use the school’s technological tools, including computers, tablets, and learning management platforms, to enhance instruction and student progress monitoring.
• Assess students’ academic progress and level of competency development.
• Work closely with the educational team, student support team, and school administration, while maintaining regular and constructive communication with parents.
• Establish and maintain the conditions necessary to create an environment conducive to learning.
• Support and uphold the school’s philosophy, values, and educational vision.
• Monitor students’ academic progress and behaviour in collaboration with parents and the appropriate High School administration.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development days, parent-teacher meetings, school events, and student-life activities.
• Perform any other related duties associated with the teaching role.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Education and a teaching certificate issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec.
• Strong knowledge of the Quebec Education Program and an understanding of its objectives and requirements.
• Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
• Previous teaching experience at the elementary or High School level is considered an asset.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• A dynamic, motivated, and engaging approach to teaching.
• Sensitivity to and openness toward the culture and values of our school community.
• Quebec Teaching Certificate (Brevet d’enseignement) or Teaching Authorization.
