The school invites applications for the following positions:
Title: Resource Educator – Elementary
Report to : Resource Department Coordinator
Status : Full Time
Start date : School year 2025-2026

Job Objective:
The Resource Educator works collaboratively with the Resource Department Coordinator, teachers, students and parents.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist students in difficulty in subgroups or individually in any subject where the student is having difficulty.
- Communicate frequently with teachers to find solutions and ways to help students.
- Act as a liaison between the parents and the teacher. Communicates with parents frequently to report on their child's academic performance.
- Provide strategies for parents and teachers to intervene with students who are struggling.
- Teach students study strategies to prepare for their assessments.
- Checking students' Coba weekly to monitor students' academic progress as well as homework and assignments due.
- Participate in the development and review of the student's intervention plan by incorporating ways to hold students accountable.
- Follow up academically and organizationally with all students with intervention plans.
- Work closely with the Student Services Department for all students who have certain behavioral, social and emotional needs.
- Demonstrate to students the proper functioning of the Word Q and Antidote programs.
- Oversee after school homework assistance for students in need.
- Supervise midterm and final exams for students with accommodations.
- Supervise students when writing a test in an isolated room.
- During Ministry exams or tests, ensure that each student in the department receives the prescribed accommodations.

- Participate in parent-teacher meetings (challenging students).

Skills and experience
- Demonstrate a good sense of initiative and autonomy.
- Strong interpersonal skills: communication, problem solving, listening to others.
- Mastery of the Office suite.
- Experience with elementary students would be an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective organizational and planning skills.
- Be recognized as a dynamic, motivated and motivating individual.
