Summary of the Job Position
The Student Life and Sports Animator supports the overall student experience for sec. 1 and 2 by promoting engagement in sports, clubs, and co-curricular activities. The role contributes to a positive and inclusive school culture by helping organize and oversee student activities, fostering school spirit, and encouraging participation, leadership, and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Promote and increase Grade 7–8 student participation in sports teams, clubs, cultural activities, and school life initiatives
- Organize, coordinate, and supervise lunchtime clubs, after-school programs, intramurals, and interschool sports
- Support tryouts, team selections, practices, and student engagement in co-curricular programs
- Supervise sporting events, games, and school activities, ensuring safety, structure, and smooth logistics
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic student life culture that promotes belonging, teamwork, and school spirit
- Support student leadership, volunteering, and community involvement opportunities
- Collaborate with teachers, coaches, and administration to plan, communicate, and implement activities effectively
- Contribute to the planning and promotion of spirit events, assemblies, and themed days
- Serve as a visible and approachable presence, building strong relationships with Grade 7–8 students
- Ensure compliance with school safety policies during all activities and events
- Support the overall development of a balanced, stimulating, and engaging student life program for lower secondary school (grades 7 and 8)
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Knowledge of the training program and understanding of its challenges.
- Experience at the elementary or secondary level would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong organizational and efficient planning skills.
- Recognized as a dynamic, motivated, and motivating individual.
- Sensitivity and openness to the culture and values of our school community.
