Azrieli Talmud Torah | Herzliah is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of our HR and payroll functions. This role is essential in ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance with employment standards and collective agreements, and the delivery of high-quality HR support to our staff.

Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations

Status: Full Time

Start Date:  July 1, 2026

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Maintain payroll records, deductions, benefits, and statutory remittances (CNESST, QPIP, RRQ, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and collective agreements
  • Manage employee changes (new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, leaves)
  • Prepare year-end payroll documentation (T4, RL-1)

Human Resources Support

  • Maintain employee records and HR files in accordance with legal requirements
  • Support recruitment processes (job postings, onboarding, documentation)
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies
  • Support the administration of benefits, leaves, and absences

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with Quebec labour standards and internal policies
  • Support audits and prepare required HR/payroll reports
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes
  • Process and maintain Retraite Québec files in alignment with payroll and statutory requirements

Employee Relations & Administration

  • Provide professional and confidential support to staff
  • Assist in the implementation of HR initiatives and policies
  • Support the administration of performance management and evaluation processes

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Payroll Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HR and payroll
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec payroll legislation and employment standards
  • Experience working in a unionized environment (asset)
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required)
  • High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
